PRIVATE YOGA CLASSES

A private yoga class is a chance to deepen your practice and expand your horizons. If any physical injuries or other setbacks hinder group practice, this is also the perfect opportunity to benefit from individual instruction. For beginners, intermediate or advanced to yoga, for those who may not be comfortable practicing poses in front of others, private instruction is optimal as it gives you the opportunity to learn and improve your technique in a more convenient and easy-going environment. Your private trainer will help you grasp the basic to more advanced tenets of yoga and work toward any goals you may have.

Hatha classes focus on simplicity, repetition and ease of movement. It helps align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. The aim is relaxation and balance, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated.

Vinyasa classes are a strong moving flow that cultivate balance, stability, flexibility, and vigor. Breath awareness and coordination are carried throughout the practice as the asana ebbs and flows between effort and ease.

Yin classes are quiet, meditative practices with long, deep posture holds. This class uses mindful relaxation within each posture to target the body’s connective tissue and promote the mobilization of fascia. This practice can be tailored to each unique practitioner with the use of props, modified shapes, and mindfulness.

Ashtanga is a set sequence of postures each time, gradually progressing through the series. It emphasises the linking of movement and breath (vinyasa), Ujjayi breathing and Bandhas (energy locks). The practice not only promotes physical strength, but also a deeper understanding of bodily control and mental discipline. The ideals learned during practice give students a foundation for a healthy lifestyle, bringing about a more stable mind and body. 

Yin & Yang Yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice. It's  the perfect mix of vigorous vinyasa, and restful, ease filled stretching. My Yin Yang yoga class will start with a placed Yang sequencing to warm the muscles an building hit in the body by incorporating power, strength and stability, before moving into a slower. Yin yoga, feeling good stretches to calm the mind and to work on the joints.

Mobility Flow is a dynamic movement class centered on the concepts of mobility, proprioception, and balance. This class is not a typical Yoga class and mixes disciplines such as conditioning, functional movement, and awakening yoga. Each class is uniquely crafted to help students create, and control, new ranges of motion in this body, stabilize the joints, and move more freely both on & off the mat.
